Ep #74: Reinventing Your Watch Icon: Inside The New Christopher Ward Sealander with Will Brackfield

Join the CP7 boys with the first watch designer we’ve had on our show. We speak with and get to know Will Brackfield, the senior designer for the rapidly growing British watch brand Christopher Ward, and the man behind the design of many of their recent, immensely popular watches.
Christopher Ward has taken a bit of a gamble this year, in redesigning the most popular watch in their range, The Sealander Auto and GMT. We find out why they made the big decision and what went behind reinventing their biggest watch icon, with those oh so subtle, yet oh so impactful changes.

We also dive into Will’s other design projects, some of which may surprise you,  and break down how a Christopher Ward watch evolves from first sketch to final creation.

So buckle up and enjoy the ride as we talk Sealanders, Bel Cantos and Twelves with Will Brackfield, Christopher Ward’s senior designer.

First up, the wristwatch checks: Will is rocking his Christopher Ward The Twelve prototype, followed by Parm with his Breitling Navitimer, and we finish with Andy and his vintage Zenith Defy.

Now, taking a closer look at the Christopher Ward C63 Sealander range, starting with the Automatic.

We finish with the C63 GMT collection and a closer look at the iLink. That concludes the show notes. Let us know your thoughts on the new Sealander range in the comments. Until then, you’ll hear us on the next one!
