Listen to full episode :
CP7 collecting update!
A unique and unedited show where we just shoot the breeze and spill the beans on the latest additions in our collections.
Join the CP7 boys as we chat about how our tastes in the which watches we buy have started to change and the reasons why. We talk transition from Rolex to Patek Philippe, Omega to Audemars Piguet and one in and one out for Chopard, with a sprinkle of Zenith and Cartier for good measure.
So buckle up and enjoy the ride to find out if Parm’s Batman survived the cull, and if Andy’s watch choices are still under the spell of Miami Vice, as we deep dive into our changing tastes and changing watches.
Leave a comment with how many times Parm says “Sector Dial”!
First up, the wristwatch checks, Andy is wearing his vintage 70s Zenith Defy, followed by Parm with his sturdy Seiko PADI Diver.
Now the Cartier Pasha, the watch which triggered Parm to shake up his collection, followed by his first change, moving on from the Rolex Explorer Polar II, which had been a favourite of his, to the solid 18k yellow gold Chopard Mille Miglia with the striking engine-turned dial.
Moving on to Andy’s first change, parting with his beloved Chopard St. Moritz for the 70s Zenith Defy with champagne dial and the iconic Gay Frères ladder bracelet, and taking a look at his Jaeger-LeCoultre Calatrava, after its fall, it’s back in action.
Next, the big one for Parm, the two Rolexes which were sacrificed, the Batman and the Bluesy, for Parm’s milestone Patek Philippe Calatrava 5296R-001, and a look at the Calatrava 5196G, which was originally on Parm’s radar.
We finish with another big one! Andy’s vintage Omega cuff watch in 18k yellow gold, which he decided to sell to take advantage of the current market, allowing him to trade up to the unicorn Audemars Piguet 5043 in platinum. The final image is the Audemars Piguet Philosophique, which Andy passed on in favour of the platinum 5043, a good move?
That concludes the show notes. We hope you enjoyed the uncut, pure watch talk, and let us know in the comments, did we make the right choices? Until then, you will hear us on the next one.
